Description
While hiking up Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway I came across this American Tiger Lily (also known as a Turk’s Cap Lily). During the spring and summer the wildflowers on the Blue Ridge Parkway are spectacular. I stopped the car so many times that my mother thought we were never going to get to our destination. On our hike up Waterrock Knob the clouds rolled in within minutes of my taking the photograph and the rain completely drenched us. Fortunately I had my camera cover with me!
