Awakening

Description

Early morning isn’t something I experience often, however on a trip through Great Smoky Mountains National Park with my mother there was no sleeping in. Of course, sleeping in while camping is difficult at best anyway. If the birds don’t wake you, the light of the sun on your tent will. I awoke that morning at Smokemont Campground to the sounds of my mom making coffee and the wonderful scent of trees, earth, and rhododendrons in the air. While I drank my coffee I watched the sun rise through the trees, and so began another day.
